The Council of Chief School State Officers to Collaborate with Hanover on New Initiatives

WASHINGTON, DC—The Hanover Companies announced today that The Council of Chief School State Officers (CCSSO) has joined Hanover Research.

Regarding the new collaboration with Hanover, Bob Olsen, CCSSO Program Director, said, “[We] contracted with Hanover to provide a foundational capacity to conduct secondary literature review research to challenge or confirm thinking and plans around various initiatives within the Council. We specifically planned our first experience with Hanover to be targeted for our system of collaboratives serving career service professionals from state departments of education. These fourteen groups, involving nearly 600 people from more than 40 states, take up policy and pragmatic issues around assessment, student standards, and instruction, in areas such as English language learners, science, technical issues in large scale assessments, etc.”

Hanover Managing Director Sid Phillips added, “We’re excited to work with CCSSO to provide additional research capacity around a variety of state initiatives. CCSSO represents a significant step in Hanover’s growth within K-12 education—Hanover has become a proven resource with district, regional and state organizations and it is very important for us to understand how our model and approach to research can be integrated at the national level. Over the course of the membership, Hanover will support CSSO’s efforts in various areas of elementary education. “We look for Hanover to provide foundational information with which these collaborative groups can find the compass points for work to help them best support the policies and initiatives of their state’s public education,” Olsen said.
